Opening Villa Colette in Cap Ferret, designed by Philippe Starck

An hotel in the heart of the peninsula, a dreamlike Arcachon Bay house
At the tip of the peninsula lies Cap Ferret. Here, nature and its elements express themselves with intensity. For Laurent Taïeb and Philippe Starck, it is a rare, timeless place, full of spirit, a source of deep feeling of fullness and delight. There, facing the sea, Villa Colette and its surroundings respond to each other joyfully. Desires follow naturally: to go out, to swim at high tide, to walk, to cycle. In the end, the happiness of having felt like a “ferretcapian” for the duration of a stay.
At the very end of the oyster-farming peninsula (after Claouey, Petit and Grand Piquey, Le Canon, then L’Herbe), lies Cap Ferret. A feeling of being at the edge of the world. Between the Dune du Pilat and the Banc d’Arguin, the Atlantic Ocean and Arcachon Bay, the pine forest and the Mimbeau spit, nature expresses itself here at its peak. An ongoing invitation to contemplate, slow down, recharge, and also feel alive.

VILLA COLETTE, A SEASIDE VILLA
Cap Ferret is reflected here in this dreamlike Arcachon Bay villa, where designer Philippe Starck brings Laurent Taïeb’s vision to life. On the village square, facing Arcachon Bay, behind the walls of its elegant neo-19th-century architecture, Villa Colette reveals a fertile and refined world, imagined as a joyful house.
Its twenty-eight rooms and suites, its restaurant, bar, and terrace facing the horizon are the stages of a soft and vibrant way of life. Beyond trends, between playful sophistication, smiling poetry, and deep joy, a modern Ferret-Cap version of charm unfolds.
Each room and suite, in soft and tender tones, extends the experience. Private gardens, balconies, or terraces open onto Arcachon Bay, the centuries-old pine forest, or the heart of the village. Powder pink tones, elegant mahogany furniture, refined bathrooms, and friezes of surreal photographs create a feeling of floating. Here, more than outside, between dream and reality, the mind wanders and the eyes smile.

THE RESTAURANT, HERE AND ELSEWHERE
At the heart of Villa Colette, the restaurant both seduces and surprises. Orchestrated by chef Benjamin Six, the menu celebrates a free, refined international cuisine. The local daily catch converses with creations inspired by elsewhere.
The precise décor, mirrored galleries, hidden portraits, shimmering silverware, offers a unique experience, under a glass roof filled with light or beneath the stars.
THE BAR, THE HEART OF THE VILLA
This lemon-yellow boudoir reveals its bar, its intimate lounges, an old-fashioned stove, and a precious wooden piano. At any time of day, rituals unfold: coffee facing the bay, tea time after a boat trip on a pinasse, a game of backgammon by the fire… then, as the light fades, a signature cocktail by the water, accompanied by piano music.

Free and luminous, Cap Ferret is discovered differently here. Villa Colette invites guests to simple yet precious experiences: swimming at sunrise, sailing in a pinasse to the Dune du Pilat, cycling under the pines to L’Herbe, or enjoying oysters facing the sea. At every moment, nature sets the tone, softness settles in, and elegance appears in every detail. Always, the setting of joyful hospitality.
