ينطلق مهرجان بيروت الدولي لسينما المرأة، الذي ينظمه “مجتمع بيروت السينمائي”، بنسخته الثامنة هذا العام بين 27 نيسان و3 أيار 2025، تحت شعار “نساء من أجل القيادة“، وذلك برعاية وزير الثقافة غسان سلامة ووزيرة السياحة لورا لحود، وبشراكة مع كازينو لبنان وGrand Cinemas

يفتتح المهرجان فعالياته في 27 نيسان بحفل في كازينو لبنان، تتخلله مشاركة النجمة التونسية-المصرية هند صبري كضيفة شرف، تكريماً لمسيرتها الفنية اللامعة وإسهاماتها البارزة في السينما. كما يشمل الافتتاح تكريم كل من الدكتورة جاكلين معلوف، رئيسة “التجمع الوطني للسكري”، تقديرًا لجهودها في العمل الاجتماعي، والسيدة مايسة بو عضل، رئيسة مجموعة HOLDAL ، لنجاحها في عالم الأعمال؛ تقدم الإحتفال الممثلة اللبنانية سارة أبي كنعان.

يمتد المهرجان حتى 3 أيار، ويعرض ما يقارب مئة فيلم من أكثر من 45 دولة، تشمل أفلاماً روائية ووثائقية، قصيرة وطويلة، بالإضافة إلى أفلام رسوم متحركة وتجريبية وأفلام رقص. تقام العروض في صالات Grand Cinemas في مجمّع ABC ضبية، ويترافق البرنامج مع ندوات وحلقات نقاشية. ويُختتم الحدث بحفل توزيع الجوائز في 3 أيار، حيث تختار لجنة تحكيم مؤلفة من 29 شخصية سينمائية وفنية مرموقة الفائزين في مختلف الفئات.

ويُعدّ هذا المهرجان منصة بارزة للاحتفاء بإبداع وتميّز المرأة في المجال السينمائي، إذ يُبرز دورها القيادي ويُكرم إنجازاتها الملهمة.

تجدر الإشارة إلى أن “مجتمع بيروت السينمائي” هو جمعية رائدة في نشر الثقافة اللبنانية عبر الفن وصناعة السينما، على المستويين المحلي والدولي، ويواصل تنفيذ رؤيته لـ “لبنان بلد صديق للسينما“، مساهمًا في تعزيز الاقتصاد الثقافي والسياحة السينمائية في البلاد.

Hend Sabry to Be Honored at the Beirut International Women Film Festival

The Beirut International Women Film Festival, organized by the Beirut Film Society, returns for its 8th edition from April 27 to May 3, 2025, under the theme “Women for Leadership.” The festival is held under the patronage of Minister of Culture Ghassan Salameh and Minister of Tourism Laura Lahoud, in partnership with Casino du Liban and Grand Cinemas.

The opening ceremony will take place on April 27 at Casino du Liban, featuring acclaimed Tunisian-Egyptian actress Hend Sabry as Guest of Honor, in recognition of her outstanding artistic career and significant contributions to cinema. The ceremony will also include tributes to Dr. Jacqueline Maalouf, President of the National Diabetes Association, for her achievements in social work, and Ms. Maysaa Abou Adal, Chairwoman of HOLDAL Group, for her success in the business world; Mater of Ceremony Lebanese Actress Sara Abi Kanaan.

The festival continues until May 3, showcasing around 100 films from over 45 countries. The program includes a diverse selection of short and feature-length films—fiction, documentaries, animation, experimental films, and dance films—screened at Grand Cinemas in ABC Dbayeh. In addition to film screenings, the festival features panels and discussion sessions. The event concludes with an awards ceremony on May 3, where winners will be selected by a jury of 29 esteemed cinema professionals, actors, and artists, divided into specialized juries for each film category.

This festival attracts leading figures from the worlds of cinema, television, and the arts, celebrating women’s excellence and creativity in film. It plays a vital role in highlighting women’s leadership and honoring their remarkable impact in the industry and society.

It’s worth noting that the Beirut Film Society is an active organization dedicated to promoting Lebanese culture through filmmaking and the arts, both nationally and internationally. Its initiatives span Lebanon, Canada, Latin America, and the Arab world, and reflect its vision of a “Film Friendly Lebanon”—contributing to a cultural economy and film indused tourism.
